LegisTransport
LegisTransport is the transportation module for LegisCraft. It enhances vanilla transportation methods to make travel across the server faster and more efficient. This includes custom minecarts, enhanced horse mechanics, and speed boosts for players on roads.
Custom Minecarts
LegisTransport introduces three tiers of custom minecarts, each with unique speeds and fuel capacities. These minecarts are significantly faster than vanilla minecarts but require fuel to operate.
Minecart Tiers
| Type | Speed | Fuel Capacity | Notes |
|---|---|---|---|
| Iron Minecart | 24 blocks/s | 1,200 units | Standard upgrade. Moderate speed. |
| Gold Minecart | 40 blocks/s | 2,400 units | High speed. Requires better fuel. |
| Diamond Minecart | 64 blocks/s | 4,800 units | Extreme speed. Only accepts high-tier fuel. |
Fueling
You can place fuel into your minecart by right clicking it with the fuel in your hand to insert it one at a time, or shift-right click to insert the whole stack.
Minecarts do put stress on the rails! There is a small chance that it will degrade a powered rail into a normal rail each time they pass over them! Diamond Minecarts have the highest chance of degrading a rail.
Crafting Recipes
You can craft custom minecarts using a standard crafting table.

Heads-Up Display (HUD)
When riding a custom minecart, a HUD will appear in your action bar displaying real-time information:
- Cart Type: The name of the minecart you are riding (e.g., "Iron Minecart").
- Speed: Your current speed vs. the cart's max speed (e.g.,
24.0/24.0 b/s).- Red: Moving slowly (< 50% max speed)
- Yellow: Moderate speed (50-80% max speed)
- Green: Cruising speed (80-110% max speed)
- Aqua: Overspeed (> 110% max speed)
- Fuel: Current fuel level / Max capacity (e.g.,
1200/1200 fuel). - Fuel Bar: A visual progress bar indicating remaining fuel.
Fuel System
Custom minecarts require fuel to move. You can refuel a minecart by right-clicking it with a valid fuel item.
| Fuel Item | Fuel Amount | Compatible Carts |
|---|---|---|
![]() | 3 units | Iron, Gold |
![]() | 8 units | Iron, Gold |
![]() | 30 units | Gold, Diamond |
![]() | 80 units | All Types |
![]() | 125 units | Diamond Only |
Commands
- /lt give <player> <type>: Give a custom minecart to a player.
- Types:

- Types:
- /lt fuel: Check the fuel level of the minecart you are looking at.
Horse Enhancements
LegisTransport improves horse breeding and provides temporary speed boosts for horses.
Enhanced Breeding
Breeding horses on LegisCraft is more rewarding. If you breed two fast horses, the offspring has a chance to be even faster, breaking vanilla speed limits.
You must use Golden Apples to breed horses for these enhanced stats. Golden Carrots are reserved for speed boosts.
Breeding Tiers
The speed of the offspring depends on the speed of the slowest parent.
| Parent Speed (Min) | Baby Speed Range |
|---|---|
| 11.25+ blocks/s | 12.0 - 13.5 blocks/s |
| 12.85+ blocks/s | 13.0 - 15.25 blocks/s |
| 15.0+ blocks/s | 15.0 - 18.0 blocks/s |
Note: Vanilla horses typically range from 7 to 14 blocks/s.
Golden Carrot Boost
Feeding a horse a Golden Carrot will give it a temporary speed boost, allowing it to reach a maximum speed of 32 blocks/s.
Diminishing Returns
The boost duration follows a diminishing returns schedule. The first carrot provides the longest boost, with subsequent carrots adding less time.
- 1st Carrot: +45 seconds
- 2nd Carrot: +43 seconds
- 3rd Carrot: +37 seconds
- ...and so on.
- 16th+ Carrot: +1 second
Limits
- Max Duration: You can stack the boost up to 5 minutes (300 seconds).
- Reset: If a horse goes without a Golden Carrot for 10 minutes, its hunger resets, and the next carrot will provide the full 45-second boost again.
Player Speed Paths
To encourage the construction of infrastructure, players receive speed boosts when walking on specific blocks.
Speed Blocks
| Block Type | Speed Level |
|---|---|
| Dirt Path | Speed I |
| Stone Bricks (All variants) | Speed I |
| Concrete (All colors) | Speed II |
Building roads out of Concrete or Stone Bricks is the best way to connect your towns and cities!
